New Year

I'm not much for resolutions; I prefer plans.
Since I decided late last year to start triathlons, this year the sky's the limit. I started training at the beginning of June, which is late. I didn't even train for the swim and I got my bike 3 weeks before my first event. If I don't improve this year, I'm doing something seriously wrong.
I received a magnetic bike trainer for Christmas, so it's set up in the basement. I got the idea from Giving it a Tri, who has a sweet setup in his garage. I don't have a bike computer to calculate distance, so I just go by time.
I can swim at the local pool for free under the city employment plan. It's a bit of a pain since it's public time, and not everyone is there to train, but I'll make do.
Winter running is great, since there's very little sweating. We need more snow for skiing, but it's coming.
So I'm all set. I just have to get rid of this cold.

Happy New Year!

I'm Hammer, from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and I'm an age-group triathlete. I'm also a husband, father of 3 girls, a career firefighter, and a musician. I'm a busy guy, but that's the price you pay for being a Renaissance Man.
